My condiments to the chef…

My daughter is a good eater. Most of the time.

Oh, sure, we sometimes has to bribe her to eat more breakfast or she won’t get her vitamin (who would have thought that would work?), but she’ll also eat a fair amount of the weird crap variety of foods we, as vegetarians, eat.

Of course, there are those days where she thinks she can make an entire meal out of one of the following:

  • Salt
  • Pepper
  • Soy Sauce
  • Ketchup
  • Chunks of garlic picked out of our food
  • Chutney
  • Syrup

  1. I have often made an entire meal out of garlic, so I know it can be done.

  2. And it cured that pesky vampire problem we were having in our neighborhood

  3. L.A. Daddy says:

Oh, yeah. I had a post on this a while back — L.A. Toddler LOVES condiments. In fact, the other day, we had set the table and went back for the food. When we returned, we caught her with a spoon in the big vat of butter and she was just munching away.

She uses her French Fry as a spoon to eat the ketchup. Only she doesn’t eat the fry — she just goes back for more!

[Kaz: Yeah, the french fry spoon! Glad to hear I’m not the only one who has a kid that does that! We have to tell her, “eat some of the french fry, too” and then she takes a bite. Sometimes the syrup is consumed by licking it off a mini pancake.]
