Conversations with…

A sense of humor if very important to me. When my daughter began to develop a sense of humor a few months back, I was thrilled, if taken by surprise…

Me: What do you want for breakfast?
Daughter: Ice cream (she’s tried this tactic before)
Me: You can’t have ice cream for breakfast. What do you want for breakfast?
Daughter: Elephants!
Me: Nooooooo. That’s silly. What do you want for breakfast?
Daughter: Tigers!
Me: You can’t have tigers for breakfast, silly! What do you want for breakfast?
Daughter: Ding dongs!

Now, I have to say here that the idea of having Ding Dongs for breakfast sounded good to me, but I am pretty sure she has no idea what Ding Dongs are, and just thought that was funny sounding.

She’s always found stuff “funny” or “silly” before, it was just fun to see her finally making the jokes herself.
